What we don’t do

• We don’t send what you write to a server. It never leaves your browser.
• We don’t store it in a database, a file, or a user account.
• We don’t write it to local storage, session storage, cookies or browser history.
• We don’t log it, back it up or email it to anyone.
• We don’t send it to an AI model. No AI reads, analyses or answers your thought.
• We don’t use session-recording or heatmap tools that could capture what you type.

What happens to your thought

The text lives in your browser’s memory while you’re typing. When you press Send, it is cleared. If you refresh or close the tab, it’s gone. There is no history and no way for us — or you — to retrieve it later.

The safety word-check

One thing does look at your words: a simple word-matching check that runs inside your own browser, so it can show you support options if you mention suicide or serious harm. It is a fixed list of phrases, not AI, and it makes no judgement about you. Nothing is sent anywhere, nobody is alerted, and no record is made of what triggered it.

Measurement

We don’t run analytics, advertising or session-replay tools on this site. Like any website, the hosting provider handles ordinary web requests for pages and files, and technical errors may be reported so the site can be fixed — neither ever includes the contents of the thought field. That input is explicitly marked so analytics and replay tools must ignore it.

No accounts

There is no sign-up, no login and no profile. We don’t track you between visits. The gentle pause after several submissions in a row is counted in memory only, for the current page session, and disappears on refresh.

Nobody is reading

OUTBOX is not a crisis service and submissions are not monitored. No person reads what you write and nothing is passed to emergency services, so apart from showing you support options on your own screen, OUTBOX cannot respond to an emergency.
